[AusNOG] Connectivity in Cloncurry

Skeeve,

Optus have a lonely mobile tower up at the Century Zinc mine. While its
400km's north of Cloncurry, I am not sure what path the backhaul may
take.....

Logic also says there is "something" on the run between Townsville and
Cloncurry as Cloncurry from memory is a CCA for that whole area (but
maybe logic isnt the right approach here).

I also recall driving up that way a few years back and seeing several of
those really old rusted Telecom signs from the 80's about Fibre Optic
across (or around) the nation. Never ceased to amaze me as to where you
would come across the yellow telstra cable markers when in the middle of
nowhere...

Worst case, if you are in town, multiple ADSL2 circuits with some load
balancing trickery would be cost effective (maybe not enterprise grade,
but given the power goes out frequently in these places......)

Enjoy.

Glenn.
