The way I see it, TRILL is the future of both the datacentre and metro
E networks.  I can't imagine anyone building large compute (on the
order of a few thousand machine clusters and larger) without building
Clos-style fabrics, and with the traditional approach to that you had
a lot of silicon sitting around.  And if you think that your metro
network won't need that sort of cross-sectional bandwidth - in the
words of Randy Bush - I encourage my competitors to build their
networks that way :-).
