Actually no. Keeping people out of hospitals is what will save hospitals.
The actual hospital capacity isn't the major issue, the issues are:
- people filling it up unnecessarily
- poor equipment
- not enough quality staff
- Diagnostic medicine companies charging a ton
You fix those things and hospitals.
The ideas that have been floated so that nurses can prescribe certain types of medications, do home visits and deal with most triage issues are what is needed.
Community Nursing, Online doctors (I'd like to know more about this one), and nationalisation of the hospital system is what we need.
