What I cannot understand is that with someone of the intelligence and background of Malcolm Turnbull in the Coalition, how they could come up with such a half-baked broadband 'plan'. A lot seems to be aimed at keeping the Nationals quiet (who seemed to support the NBN to a degree).

At least if Labor get back, there is no way that the Conroy-filter will get through the senate with the Greens holding the balance (unless the religious right get to the coalition).
