Understand we have a renewed consumer advocate organisation in ACCAN and
its CEO Allan Asher, who is intent on fanning and building this
perception, not only regarding telcos and service providers but also the
current and previous regulators that allowed them to get away with
treating consumers shabbily (their view). If 'Government' has this view
(I'm not convinced), its largely due to ACCAN's advocacy behind the
scenes and in front - fairly successful in their view I would expect -
over the past many months.
See the latest few TIO reports for a list of the top telco/service
provider organisations that are likely to be targets for 'fixing'.
