[AusNOG] OT: Apparently Brisbane wants to be first on NBN

Brisbane has pressed its case to trial Australia's national broadband network in a capital city, Lord Mayor Campbell Newman said this afternoon.

"Cr Newman said 61 per cent of recent survey of 450 Brisbane businesses wanted access to "next generation broadband" services as quickly as possible."


Now, being a Brisbanite through and through, I welcome the move, and Brisbane WAS the birthplace of PiPE, so can't be all that bad..

But seriously, will there be a 'first' city, or will it all happen at once?
