Looks like my delirious post below wasn't too far from the events of this
morning!
New govt-friendly CEO, and old-hat Chairman resigns!

Speaking of NBN related matters, and slightly off topic of the technical
aspects of how it will work/run, all which have definitely had their fair
share of publicity over the last few weeks.
I think the most important thing for everyone who is either a shareholder of
Telstra (I know many friends and family who have lost big with Telstra
shares), or just a "user" of Australian telecoms products, is that whatever
happens in regards to the structure of Telstra (including potentially the
new CEO's direction) - is potential more important than the NBN itself.
I may be overly optimistic, but I still have high hopes that whoever
succeeds Trujillo (hey, maybe even McGauchie can find some other company to
ruin!) can or will embrace the optimism that everyone has been lead to
believe the NBN will be, and at the very least work with his customers and
the Govt to move our industry as a whole into a better place.
Who knows - Maybe if Ziggi was still at the helm, we'd already have a NBN of
some description, instead of an overpriced HSPA/3G phone network! I miss my
Nokia 6255 :-(
Back to my padded cell now..

Well, you -can- run separate VLANs on certain Cisco devices w/ said Cisco
"bridging"
the VLANs together.
Each client then gets a /32 inside a larger subnet but its not a single L2
broadcast
network, so per-vlan filters, shaping, etc.
