Also a nice example of how this filter might lead to hundreds of Australians having their email accounts hacked, their banking/cc details compromised and or their identities stolen, with little recourse to any compensation given the circumstances.

My first guess would be:
Step 1 - Type "open proxy" in google.
Step 2 - copy any open proxy address into browser proxy setting
Step 3 - congratulate yourself for circumventing the great Australian
Firewall
