<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-US">Not too sure I agree with your sentiments; people still get call failures and congestion occurs during the NYE event. Additionally, calls during the NYE event are quite short in nature and therefore
channels are constantly cycled through at a higher rate. This event is not remotely close and considering it is affecting Landline to Landline, Mobile to Landline etc. from various carriers, I don’t think it’s relevant who is providing the endpoints for the
hotline(s) being called during this time. Myself with Telstra could only make calls to someone else on the Optus network (Mobile to Mobile), one in ~eight attempts. All others either immediately failed or advised that I was restricted.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

voice traffic is such a tiny drop in the networking-traffic bucket<br>
that any sort of increase is still largely insignificant.<br>
