<p class="MsoNormal">It's been a while since I looked at this stuff but they may be doing it for exactly the same reason as server guys drop TTL's - They're looking at moving some or all of those users to a new IP range (maybe on a new or different CMTS) so
they've dropped the lease time in the week leading up to it so they don't end up with hundreds (or thousands) of isolated clients with incorrect IP's. <o:p></o:p></p>
