    <p>Karl's answer is not entirely accurate, it really depends on the
      game title. While some games do run in Azure there are many cases
      where "the cloud" is not ideal due to the performance requirements
      of the server software. Furthermore, if your game can't easily
      scale up/down it's not exactly cheap to run a public cloud
      instance on a permanent basis and that's where specialized hosting
      providers come in.</p>
    <p>Full disclosure: my employer i3D.net AS49544 hosts a significant
      portion of the Xbox but also PC/PlayStation infrastructure in
      Australia, mostly for shooter-like game titles - and I doubt we're
      the only one competing for this niche of the market.<br>
