<p>Also had the same issue in 2519, Wollongong. Only explanation was the same vague error message you have. PSTN was working, but no ADSL signal whatsoever. Seemed to affect Telstra/Wholesale connections for about 3 days.</p>
<p>Couldn't extract any meaningful information from Telstra/Exetel though.</p>

<div dir="ltr">I don't have any specific info on that outage, but my folks (in ballaarat) had a similar vague week-long outage a couple of months ago, and it was due to a two-block-long redirection of trunk cabling supplying their suburb, making way for widening of the main road. Over that week, their PSTN was engaged for most of the time, and ADSL (via AAPT, not Telstra) was up and down a couple of times. - it may be a similar thing?</div>
