<div>Hi Andrew/Mark,</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I would be interested in this as well since we use this design in all our racks.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Typically use Cisco Switches as a top of rack but looking at other options.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>However since these TOR switches are just layer 2 seems overkill to install Cisco Layer3 Switches.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Has anyone had experience / reviews with the Quanta LBM Switches ?</div>
<div><a href="http://www.ebay.com/itm/Refurbished-Quanta-LB4M-10GB-Uplink-Switch-Dual-Power-Supplies-90-Day-Warranty-/281553085698?hash=item418ddf2502:g:kSsAAOSwGWNUV6pW">http://www.ebay.com/itm/Refurbished-Quanta-LB4M-10GB-Uplink-Switch-Dual-Power-Supplies-90-Day-Warranty-/281553085698?hash=item418ddf2502:g:kSsAAOSwGWNUV6pW</a></div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Interested in the Quanta as this allows us to create a dual 10Gbe path back to our core per rack.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"></span>Concerns – they are cheap, damn cheap but does that mean that they are unreliable?!</div>
<div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"></span>Do you have to look at alternative software for them to make them usable?</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Regards</div>

<p class="MsoNormal">Anyway, hoping some of you may be able to provide some recommendations for a couple of decent Top Of Rack (ToR) switches, requirements are 1Gb/10Gb, support for deep big buffers (iSCSI) and stacking, Layer 3 routing, VLAN’s (a given), budget
of about $15k for 2 switches. (I know budget is low, but that’s what the client has to work with). Have looked at the Dell and HP ranges, and the ToR switch are out of the price range (HP is $30k-$50k for their converged gear)…Is a retail 24x7 environment,
so must be robust and stable…<u></u><u></u></p>
