Anyone who has had discussions with them about interception capabilities knows that that’s their ideal model. They have a track record of getting literally every single thing they ever want, regardless of how woefully inadequate their results prove to be, so why wouldn’t they start banging the drum about that too?</div><div><br class=""></div><div>AFP in particular is living proof that there is no magnitude of failure sufficient to cause the Government to start pushing back. Data retention has been bubbling away since 2007 and it appears to have caught virtually all of you unawares, and almost none of you have played any part whatsoever in any of the campaigns against it.
