<div dir="ltr"><div><br></div>I looked at it a year or more ago and now again today.<br><br>Back then the demo didn't look or feel very good and it seemed like kind of waste of time. But you know, local Brisbane company, friends of friends etc....<br><br>So even though I wasn't terribly impressed I asked a few questions and gave some feedback about needing common north/south interfaces; then left it at that.<br><br>I looked at it again today as my interest was spiked again for a number of reasons.<br><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">The web interface has had a revamp, so it's faster and looks more attractive now, but I'm still not impressed and after doing some due diligence on the OVA I can strongly say I neither need or want it on any network I'm involved in.<br><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">Behind the scenes:<br></div><div class="gmail_extra"> - CentOS 6.6<br></div><div class="gmail_extra"> - rsyslogd/ntpd/xinetd/net-snmp/etc<br></div><div class="gmail_extra"> - Apache/FastCGId/mod_php<br></div><div class="gmail_extra"> - MySQL<br></div><div class="gmail_extra"> - cacti/spine<br></div><div class="gmail_extra"> - smokeping<br></div><div class="gmail_extra"> - bearerbox/kannel WAP/SMS gateway<br></div><div class="gmail_extra"> - A slew of php and javascript from open source projects implementing with webUI, including some commercial stuff like ionCube to obfusticate a lot of the php code<br></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br>No obvious attempt to harden anything to a basic level. Closer to the opposite.<br><br>Selinux disabled.<br></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">No iptables firewalling.<br><br>Silly things instantly accessible, and poor passwords in use for default mysql accounts etc.<br><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">That all said, look under the hood of most Cisco virtual appliances (ACS/WCS/ISE etc), and even in their ASA appliances; you'll find a system that's not really all that dissimilar to the above.
