<div dir="ltr">For SDN VMware/HyperV seem to be more standard, OVZ/Xen is more for general VPS/VM hosting rather than the enterprise networking level (not to say you can't do a lot with OVZ/Xen/KVM, see AWS/Linode). (Yes AWS use Xen Mark) (see OnApp for the other big management level player, can use Xen/KVM)<div>
<br></div><div>Mainly arguments around support, OVZ/Xen/KVM are open source (basically), and are also designed more for your standard (even enterprise) VM hosting rather than anything hardcore networking.</div><div><br></div>
<div>In my experience as well, the support on a driver/compatibility level is also far more tested and far more stable on VMware/HyperV. But as Mark says, you pay for that.</div><div><br></div><div>I think it comes down to the specific scenario, I don't have hard evidence to say you should/shouldn't use any of those technologies in general, it comes down to implementations?</div>
