<p dir="ltr">No. AusNOG does not need to be all things to all people. AusNOG is for network operators - and in general, network operators don't deal with the trivialities (from their perspective) of server or end-user computing (noting these issues are far from trivialities for sysadmin and service desk/desktop support staff).</p>

<p dir="ltr">Someone on here set up a sysadmin list on aussielists. I am subscribed to it, but cannot say it has been the roaring success that the owner hoped it would be. I'd be surprised if an AusNOG sysadmin list would be any more successful.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Alternatively, people can consider paying less than the cost of a cup of coffee a week for membership in an active community and have these sorts of questions answered (and those answers reviewed) by their peers. Plus get other member benefits that are only increasing as time goes on.</p>
