I used Zyxel DSL based products for 8 years (2000-2008), I've deployed everything from their 2 box SHDSL point to point solution, to their 48 port xDSL DSLAM's. All in all I found the gear to be good and stable. I have had firmware issues, but they have been solved quickly. In the early days our office was next to theirs in Reading UK so we used to get a few beta boxes to test too.

The biggest install I've done in APAC was at Cardrona Ski Field for the tyre testing guys, 24 port VDSL/SHDSL pizza box, running a mix of 2-wire VDSL and 4-wire bonded SHDSL. Was running there for 5 years without a hitch. When it changed hands they spent the extra money and replaced the lot with fibre.
The key to using their gear, IMO is being able to get a decent support contact at Zyxel. Not sure how easy that would be here and I've lost touch with the UK guys.
