Subject: Re: [AusNOG] Understanding lack of Aus connectivity to melbournefreeuniversity.org.

So, the initial questions I have for AAPT at this point are;

1. Under what directive are you blocking traffic to IP addresses? Are you voluntarily complying with some sort of government filtering initiative or doing so at the request of some other law enforcement agency - eg, AFP, as some people have suggested ?

2. How are requests to block particular IP addresses processed - Are you provided with a complete list from $Organisation/$Agency from time to time, or do you add individual /32 or other blocks to the list as requested ?

3. Who is responsibly for the administration of that list at both the presumed external agency and internally at AAPT ?

4. How many IP addresses is AAPT currently blocking either voluntarily or in compliance with whatever LEA request ?

5. Is this list made publicly available for review? If it's not already published (I'm guessing it's not) is AAPT willing to provide a copy of the current list for review ?

Obviously most members of the list can take fairly educated guesses at most of the above, but I'd like a specific, public answer from either AAPT or another carrier to each of the questions...
