Totally understand. My point was just that IMO the benefits of
having sixteen thousand new businesses (yeah, I know, every block
doesn't really mean a new business, yadda yadda yadda) in the
economy would outweigh the economic disadvantages of running out of
IPv4.
I think we all agree on one fundamental point; If you're not playing

3. Thinking on a macro level for a minute - I'd be
absolutely stoked if we ran out of IPv4 in the next 12
months, know why? Because it would mean that ~ 16,384 new
technology companies big enough to warrant prefix
allocation had sprung up. The broader regional economic
implications of this would, IMO, far outweigh any argument
for WAHHHHHH, NO CAN HAS MORE IPv4.
Who says they're technology companies? I have a client
planning on getting an APNIC allocation in the coming
financial year simply because dealing with small site
multihoming any other way is becoming too painful.
