I usually see this referred to as AESST - Australian Eastern Standard Summer Time. At least, that's what the Foxtel guide used to say, back when I used such traditional time-based methods for watching TV shows.<div class="gmail_extra">

</div>That was the point of the other bloke in my "discussion". The problem is that AEST stipulates that you are GMT+10. If you go to GMT+11 at some random date in the year then you aren't at AEST anymore (hence AEDST). "Standard" doesn't imply that most people are covered by that timezone. It implies you are using "normal" time (i.e. not a time that's artificially altered so you get another hour down the beach of an evening :)<br>
