Hey there,

Most enterprise access points only do up to about 50 users. Dense wifi is still a complicated thing, which some vendors address with trickery, but the limits still apply on frequencies and so on.

I recently tried to design something for a thousand users and the plan was to use as much 5Ghz as I could, but we realised that most iPhones and other smartphones that while they do N, they do it on 2.4Ghz... which is a NOISY spectrum to play in.

How big is the space? Some of the niche players can do better than others... but it will involve a LOT of kit regardless.

Skeeve Stevens, CEO - eintellego Pty Ltd
