Out of curiousity as i have talked to a couple of DC operators

Is it fair to say that expecting 10-15kW in a rack is <span

My anecdotal viewpoint (becoming more solid thanks to the feedback
i've seen both on and off-list) is that many of the older/legacy DC
installations are built around demand of 10-to-16A/rack and that
it's mainly the more modern, higher-end datacentres that are able to
offer higher density - and that there aren't that many of those as
of yet?

As a networking geek, this server-hosting business is a learning
curve. Especially when those servers are drawing a bucketload more
power than my switches and routers. ;-)
This is seeming to be the case, though I assume this is a shift in
the norm over the course of the last several years (as higher
density, higher power-and-heat-footprint-per-RU equipment becomes
more common.
Thanks to everyone who's replied both on and off-list, no doubt some
