This event was an important milestone to demonstrate the IPv6 capabilities of EuroDOCSIS™ CPE and CMTS, Carrier Grade NAT (CGN) equipment and provisioning software that are used on cable operators' networks.

Participating vendors were:
• With EuroDOCSIS™ CPE: Arris, AVM, Broadcom, Cisco, Compal Broadband Networks, EchoStar Europe, Hitron Technologies, Intel, Kathrein, Netgear, Technicolor, and Ubee Interactive Europe
• With EuroDOCSIS™ CMTS: Arris, Casa Systems, Cisco, and Motorola Mobility
• With Carrier Grade NAT: A10 Networks, Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco and Juniper Networks
• With provisioning systems: Cisco and Incognito Software

Live demonstrations were organised on December 8 for cable operators in cooperation with Cable Europe Labs.

"The Cable industry has been preparing for the important and necessary transition from IPv4 to IPv6 for some time now. Due to our members’ rapid growth, Cable Europe Labs has increased our focus on validating technical solution and transition strategies. The recent interoperability event hosted by Excentis, successfully demonstrated the great strides made by key vendor partners. It is a major industry milestone”, says Peter Percosan, Managing Director of Cable Europe Labs.

"Excentis has the expertise and a fully compliant IPv6 test lab with dedicated test equipment including its ByteBlower traffic generator/analyser to support this interoperability testing. Moreover as neutral partner for the cable operator’s industry, Excentis is well positioned to bring competitors together for a successful interoperability event", says Luc Martens, CEO of Excentis.

"During the testing week, participating products achieved a high level of IPv6 interoperability", says Wim De Ketelaere, CTO of Excentis. "This event gave developers the opportunity to further refine their products and identify any remaining interoperability issues with multiple vendors' products", he continues.

"The products have been tested for IPv6 interoperability in the areas of ED2.0+IPv6, ED3.0 and eRouter. Also several IPv6 migration techniques were demonstrated successfully, like Dual-Stack Lite, NAT64/DNS64 and NAT444", Kristof Sercu, manager testing services at Excentis, concludes.

For more information, contact
Luc Martens, CEO at Excentis
Address: Gildestraat 8, 9000 Gent, Belgium | Phone: +32 9 269 22 91 | E-mail: info@excentis.com

About Excentis:
Excentis (www.excentis.com), founded in May 2000, offers testing and consulting services, specialised training, and products for the telecom and ICT industry.
