It doesn't<br>matter what it costs and I don't know whether there is any revenue to be<br>gained by this, but after x years we should 'float it'</span></blockquote></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>I still remember standing in our shinny new Sydney data center, in front of a *row* of incredibly expensive AS5400s, trying to find out who spec'd enough dial ports to support the entire online population of Sydney at the time and if they really though that was a) achievable and b) required from day one !</div><div><br></div><div>The same week finding out someone approved a software purchase (>$2m) to monitor, graph and historically report on *every* element in the network which not only included every individual (mostly idle) one of those dial ports above, but inexplicably the ISDN channel behind it.</div><div><br></div><div>The devil is entirely in the detail, the more money you throw at the solution and the less time you allow for, the bigger the bang will be.</div><div><br></div><div>I'm totally on the fence if this is a good idea, as Bev points out, I'd really like to see some numbers, market analysis, budgets and how many senior positions will be given to Telstra execs before I call it either way. </div><div><br></div><div>--</div><div>James</div><br></body></html>
