[AusNOG] Rack space in NextDC S1/S2

Hello Matthew,

I’m unsure as to how you are able to speak for other members on the list.
The reason that I use an alias in order to obtain pricing is to ensure that
the pricing is unbiased and their best possible pricing. There is no
obligation for any provider who may be a member to provide pricing for my
request, just as you don’t need to (and won’t, as your network does not
have a point of presence in any NextDC facility). And for what it’s worth,
using an alias is not a sign of disrespect.

Requesting a colocation provider to contact myself off-list in relation to
a request for services, as far as I can tell is not against the group
charter. It is required in order to establish network redundancy and
fault-tolerance and help from a member who can facilitate the space is
required. I also invite any moderator for AusNOG to correct me if I am
wrong. As a result, I really don’t see a reason for myself to be removed.

Furthermore, if you have any grievances with my usage of an alias I
actively encourage you to contact me off-list and copying
moderator at ausnog.net with any legitimate concerns you may have, such as a
breach of the charter or similar. I’m going to end this discussion here, as
there is no further need to continue on-list.

Finally, the requirement still exists. Anyone is welcome to reach out
off-list and I’m more than happy to engage in private dialogue.

Regards,
JD.
