I recently had an nbn service installed at my home/office.
No option for fttp or fttn.
Fixed wireless or *hack spit* satellite.

The tower is approx 300m from me.
It is fed via RF link from Gerogery, approx 32km away.
Gerogery is fed via RF link from Culcairn, 24km away.
Culcairn appears to be fed via fibre from Wagga, 80km away.

Within a few tens of metres from that same tower is a fibre cable to
Albury exchange, and presumably the Albury POI (and has been there for
years, not just a recent thing).

The conspiracy theorists might conclude it's a thinly disguised spectrum
grab by nbn, to make sure they can use and lock up as much as they can to
ensure no competition can use it.

That, or it's weapons-grade incompetence.
