[AusNOG] Optus – Speed Test Open NTP monlist resolves

Any Optus Speed Test System Administrators on the list…?

A client of ours had the pleasure of receiving 40 minutes of unwanted reverse speed testing simultaneously from Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth Optus Speed test servers the other night… 3gbit of the lovely UDP traffic flowed in from open NTP resolvers using monlist, This is a fantastic way to reverse force speed test the capacity of domestic Australian networks…  Please if you run NTP servers disable monlist and help clean up the internet !!!
