Also… Have a look at the residential ISPs at NSW IX
http://monitor.nsw.ix.asn.au/cacti/graph_view.php?action=list&page=1&graph_add=&graph_remove=

M2 is up by 2 Gbit, Exetel 500 Mbit
iiNet seems to be down 1.5 Gbit

And that’s only on one interface, there are two at NSW IX. Plus Megaport, Equinix, and all the private colo.
Not bad for opening night ☺

Paul.

Traffic graphs are showing 2.0 Gbps so far, and the night is still young…

Indeed - I just signed up for Unlimited Data + Fetch TV (which has the "Entertainment Pack" which includes SciFy, plus a NetFlix client in it, or will do soon) for $90 a month (OK, I'm paying $110 a month to include the 100Mbps downstream service - but that's not strictly required for this use case).

I imagine a few of these things will be getting thrashed at present!

I imagine there will be much more thrashing between 6pm and 10pm this evening :)
