[AusNOG] Abbott concedes journalism warrants to push through Data Retention this week

You can see how this might play out. Anyone who publishes for a public
audience (bloggers and/or pretty much anyone who posts to the internet),
will have their privacy respected. Whereas those who publish only to a
private audience (email), will have their privacy invaded. This bill just
gets more hilarious as the ironies compound.

My favourite political quote is from Bismarck, who said "there's two things
the public should never see - that's the making of legislation, and the
making of sausages".
