[AusNOG] NBN - GPON encryption

Hi Guys,

We are examining the inherent network design of the NBN Fibre network which utilises GPON, and we are addressing security here at our office.

Now we all know that the downstream traffic for the NBN is encrypted, but what about the upstream traffic, is this encrypted? I can't find any references from NBNCo on the encryption of the upstream traffic - only encryption of the downstream.

Can anyone confirm if the upstream traffic is encrypted?
