[AusNOG] Sysadmin opportunities in Melbourne?

Kids find it hard to get jobs today because Australia enforces a min wage of double that in the USA.

it's as simple as that!

And now Tony Abbott is too scared to look at HR reform for fear the Labour party will scream "Work Choices" again!

I've heard all the excuses before, its no wonder kids these days find it so hard to get jobs when people will go for 457 folk and pay them a pittance, I expect a fair few on the list will try justify their actions, thats ok if it helps them sleep better at night.

Not true... there are many verticals where someone could fit.

A sysadmin with banking systems or mining systems experience.. etc etc.... just random examples where you can justify bringing someone in legitimately.... SysAdmin is very generic these days... and a certain range of skills can be hard to find.

He wont get a 457, because there are plenty of sys admins in this country already who are experienced and likely looking for (new) work.

Hey guys,

Happy new Year!

Is someone on list currently looking for Sysadmins (permanent role) in the Melbourne area? One of my mates is currently looking for job opportunities down there. He also would have the requirement of getting sponsored on a 457 visa - which I am afraid will be quite a hurdle to overcome.
