[AusNOG] Data Retention Charge To End Users

That wasn't intended to be a personal attack and I apologise unreservedly
for not being more careful in how I worded it. I was highlighting a quote,
deliberately out of context, that could be taken by an outsider as evidence
that something legally relevant was being discussed.

I'd add a further caution to John's - the industry allowed itself to get
screwed by this policy and it's now past the fight phase and acquiesce
phase. *This* phase is where the AGD focuses on making sure that the
government and bureaucracy are not blamed for negative consequences (that
they said wouldn't happen). If you're trying to think of (legal) ways to
make sure the people who did this to you have to lie in the bed they made
too, I'd suggest the public list is not the forum for it, they'll be
watching and they'll retaliate with the tools they as the attorney
general's department have at their disposal, and that has the potential to
be acutely unpleasant.
