[AusNOG] Netflix Peering in AU

I've been warning people about CVC costs and the coming SVOD revolution for
about a year now, and in my ISP network management service we have been
dealing with the AGVC problem since Presto hit (little bump) and Stans free
trial (big bump) and now Netflix with free trial (massive bump) - has been
an issue since late last year.  It will be worse by the end of the year....
and there are other SVOD coming that is going to cause even more problems
which won't have standard peering (at least initially).

It all depends what kind of demographics you have in your customer base and
how you buy your tails and what kind of tails they are - not everything has
AGVC.

Even Telstra, TPG and others are going to have problems with AGVC across to
NBNCo...   that is probably the reason TPG doesn't offer its IPTV product
on its NBN tails, but does on DSL and FTTB where their backhaul is free.
