Dear All

We use the 48 port IM4200 open gear devices, very nice pieces of hardware for remote console access…… Much nicer than using the old cisco 2509 with asynchronous serial ports and octal cables !

Kindest Regards

And my 0.05$ for Opengear as well. Very stable, feature rich. You'll not be disappointed.

Thanks,

John.

Another +1 for Opengear kit. Great product, lots of options, and a fantastic local success story.

Thanks

These terminal servers are getting pretty old and they are fairly hard to support. We want to keep terminal servers in the network, so I am looking at replacing them. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good vendor for terminal servers or what sort of solution fills a similar niche?

I believe they are, mostly as they allow you the ability to watch a device reboot and give you remote access to a device independent of any configuration on the device, something an ethernet management port cannot do. What do other people think?
