[AusNOG] Cisco hardware failures

FYI - a "power cycle" can include just a reboot on some models, Cisco said they would release a more detailed list that will outline which that affects, but for now your best bet is to minimise any reloads as well....

Thanks,

*lighbulb moment*

Actually this could explain a lot. I just noticed the 1200 AP's listed there.

We have a site which has about 50 AP's... and over the last 2 years we've lots about 15 of them due to failures.

Half of them were bought re-furb, so unlikely Cisco will do anything with them... sheesh.

Hi all,

Has anyone has any experience in regards to this news report: http://www.itnews.com.au/News/372345,cisco-stung-by-switch-memory-glitch.aspx

Just wondering if anyone knows what models/cards are involved. I've tried to search Cisco.com<http://Cisco.com> but we know how painful that can be.

I am not sure I like Cisco's attitude of 'fail and fix' if they know what is affected.

Thanks.
