APC make a 1RU ATS. Seen a few of them around the place.

http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=AP7721
SKU: AP7721 - $750ex Wholesale
2 x IEC C14 240v Input and 12 x IEC C13 Output
10A Max Power Draw

There are other cheaper alternatives but what price do you put on your gear and power.

At least with the APC gear you know what you’re going to get.

Cheers,

+1 to James’s comment.

We have hardware in our racks that only has 1 power unit (like switches and routers) so our work around for this is a 1RU APC PDU that connects to both of the power feeds in our rack and the device connects to APC PDU. So in the instance that feed A is disrupted, we still have feed B and the APC PDU picks up the transfer instantly from our testing.

Dear Alex

As an internal policy we make sure everything we invest in has a minimum of two power supplies, but this is an internal policy not a standard per say.

A question for the list.

When you buy equipment for a DC, would you expect it to come with dual power supplies, either as an option or as a standard?

Alex
