I found their mention of testing on "different lengths of copper" to be interesting.

I assume this means reference, test coils / lengths, meaning new, "lab condition" copper.

Of course the tests would be going well if they are testing under lab conditions, I'd love to see them come to my town, stick one on my street attached to my copper and say their tests are going "well", I'd bet it'll be a totally different story then.

I'll bet it'd be a totally different story, but then again, they are not doing this to prove it'll work in Australian copper network conditions so much as they are doing it to help win contracts when it changes over.... (That's not even talking about the potential political reasons for doing it to help the coalition sell their idea over FTTH etc. etc., conspiracy theories abound, everyone put on your tinfoil hats)
