[AusNOG] Symbio Ports

Don't know about that specific company, but we've found ports of PSTN/ISDN ranges to VoIP/SIP providers problematic in a number of cases. It is definitely a function that still seems to be fraught with danger and uncertainty about whether it will work.

We've had situations that have taken 2-3 months to sort out.

I am wondering if this is common place though ?  (sorry highjacking your thread to get more general opinion on number porting from traditional telephony to non-traditional providers).
