[AusNOG] Cheap Q-in-Q Switch Recommendations

Also - What's the reasoning on this? Could you not just span it to a wireshark session on a PC?

Forgive me if I'm way off, my knowledge of QinQ is minimal but my understanding was its just a double tagged header and wireshark could probably read that without any drama....

Thanks,
Ayden Beeson

It's also not cheap, though it will do the throughput ok.

Try a 3560, they are pretty cheap....

Don't get a nexus 5000. It fails pretty much all your criteria except the Cisco one.

Hi Noggers,

Can anyone recommend a cheapish switch who's sole function would be to strip the outside off a Q-in-Q VLAN's to get visibility of the inside dotq VLAN's.

Throughput would be up to 1Gbps max.

I prefer something Cisco but would be open to other possibilities.

A very simple config example for your recommended solution would also help me out lots.
