NEXTDC (ASX: NXT) is an innovative company that has been established

colocation services to corporate, government and wholesale customers.
We are the only ASX-listed independent data centre operator with a
strategic footprint in all major growth markets in Australia, namely
Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra, Perth and Sydney.

This role will specialise in the design, implementation and support of
NEXTDC's networking and security infrastructure, the successful
applicant will also have opportunity to develop extensive skills in
servers & storage infrastructure, as well as provisioning Windows, OSX
and Linux-based systems thanks to NEXTDC's multi-skill support

Key Responsibilities

Primary ownership of the design, implementation and ongoing support of
NEXTDC's network infrastructure
Design input and implementation assistance as required to build and
support NEXTDC's internal and customer facing technology platforms,
including but not limited to: Security systems, Surveillance systems,
Facility control systems, IP Telephony Systems and IT enablement
Implement and maintain network deployment standards, tools and
monitoring systems
The role is primarily based in Brisbane however periodic interstate
travel is expected
Training and mentoring other members of the IT team to a sufficient
level to ensure support obligations are maintained
Succinct and useful documentation of existing and new systems

Required Skills

Experience with JUNOS switching, routing and SRX security platforms
(JNCIA or higher certifications preferred)
Experience in LAN and WAN design
Design and operational support experience with BGP
Attention to detail
Exceptional troubleshooting, planning, organisation and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal

The following skills are desirable, but not mandatory:

Experience managing a large national (100+ switch) JUNOS-based network
Security infrastructure architecture experience including penetration
testing, firewall configuration
VMware, Microsoft, OSX and Linux administration experience
Experience in a customer-focused service delivery environment
Experience building large Wi-Fi networks in challenging industrial environments


5+ years in a senior engineering role designing, building and
operating nation-wide network infrastructure
Industry Qualifications (CCNA, ITIL, BIT, etc)
