[AusNOG] Cisco 7201 CPU hog

It's hard to do without a show tech-support But you mentioned vlan's do 
you have any high traffic flows in/out the same interface (inter vlan 
routing) that's never a real good idea at speed. Do you have netflow 
acl's is CEF turned on. it's been known to turn off during an error and 
staying off. More info please.
