Hey all,

When I was at APNIC 32 in Busan, South Korea a couple of weeks ago, I was given a couple of 'probes' by RIPE for their Atlas project (http://atlas.ripe.net/)

If you check the page out it is described as follows:

"It is called RIPE Atlas and will produce a collection of live Internet maps with unprecedented detail. Our goal is to deploy thousands of active probesprimarily in the RIPE NCC service region and measure the Internet infrastructure in real time. As a sponsor or host you will not only help to achieve this ambitious goal, but will also have the possibility of conducting your own measurements using this network of probes."

So, I have one probe here that is looking for a home on the west coast of Australia. As you will see by the map above, they don't have any there and would like one.

If you want to see what the probe looks like and how it works, see the following link.

http://labs.ripe.net/Members/dfk/active_measurements/hosting-a-probe-for-active-measurements

So.. I have 1 probe for Perth. Please contact me if you are interested in hosting the probe and being a part of the Atlas project.

It would be good if you are on a nice connection, preferably leaving .au on the west coast (as opposed to going to East and out).

I was hoping to find someone at AUSNOG, but circumstances conspired against me and I was unable to make it.
