[AusNOG] Flooding in Rockhampton - What can AUSNOG do?

Hi,

I totally agree with the sentiment, unfortunately I can not think of
much AUSNOG can do to assist in this situation, but can see places and
ways we can help, if AUSNOG keeps turning a profit possibly donating a
percentage of profits to projects that help the community or start up
our own projects if it becomes viable with the amount of funding we have
available.

With Ausnog only being a yearly event I feel it is only still quite
young, I would first like to see it expanded to have a few training days
prior to the conference like NZNog does and possibly local chapters that
meet more regularly (1/2 yearly opposite main conference?).

I know there are local people who could definitely use and would be
appreciative of the free or subsidised training.

(just a off the top of my head direct ideas)

I can totally understand why you felt compelled to throw the idea out
there with coming from the area, I would have likely done similar in the
same situation, I actually felt bad about being negative towards the
idea.

Steve
