"[off-topic]" in the subject line isn't an excuse to then say what you
like. Having to add it into a subject line should be a sign that you
should find a more appropriate forum - Whirlpool has plenty of
discussion areas for mobile phones for example. Not only will you avoid
annoying people don't don't even want to have to filter out "off-topic"
subject lines, you'll also have a far greater audience of people with
useful opinions and experiences. It's a win-win for everybody involved
(i.e. those now not involved unnecessarily)

People are supposed to be self moderating according to the charter
they've accepted before they post, not "try it on" and only stopping
if they're reprimanded. That's like saying there is nothing wrong
with committing crimes until or unless you get caught. Society wouldn't
function very well if people didn't respect the law even when they're
not under police supervision.
