"Someone who has Settlement-Free Interconnect to the entire internet"

Do any of these exist anymore? :)

What exactly is "Tier1" in your mind?

Hey AusNOGers,

I am sourcing some transit for a couple of customers and rather than flood the list with multiple requests, I will just send this one email, and those that have offers conforming to the below are free to contact myself directly off-list (ONLY! Check your 'reply to').

For this particular requirement:

 * Tier 1 (Australian equivalent) Carriers ONLY (not resellers of Tier 1 unless you have something that makes you as good)
    * I'm thinking: Telstra, Optus, NTT, Pacnet, MCI, AAPT for a start – others welcome)
 * 24/7 NOC and trained engineers who can deal with issues 24/7… Not "oh, I will see if I can wake someone up"
 * Non-Vocus or Vocus upstream (multiple customers already have Vocus [which they love btw]) - due to required diversity
 * Details of international upstream, domestic connectivity and key peering relationships
 * IPv6 dual-stack included in standard service – if you don't do v6, we're not interested at this stage
 * DoS/DDoS protection option would be very valued
 * Location in Sydney DC's where it can be handed off with zero backhaul fees (Equinix, Globalswitch a must)
 * I'd like the service owner to be selling it – no resellers, VISP, etc. The direct relationship with the carrier is important
 * Pricing should include options for:
    *   Flat rate pipe
       * Pricing for 30mb – 70mb in incriments of 10mb and on 1, 2 and 3 year agreements – 2 and 3 year terms should have price protection offer built in.
    *   95% percentile (with 100mb access)
    * Single path, and protected option
    * Any connection fees or other applicable charges
    *   Will consider asymmetric offerings… I.e. 20mb down, 40mb up with a balanced price

Thanks all.
