[AusNOG] Off Topic: 42RU rack full of Cisco stuff....

When we built our new/current house... In went the 42RU in the garage,
3-Phase, with isolated air-conditioning and 46 points throughout the house.

Wife was pleased to finally get rid of all the switches, routers, cables and
servers from various places around our old place.

Its all about marketing :P

Geez you poor buggers..

when I built my house earlier this year, I told the wife I was putting a 12
RU Rack in the garage.

( patching, router, switch, ups, server, cordless phone )

wife : does this mean we can have neat cables in this house ?

me : Yup, sure does... oh and I can put this stuff somewhere neat.

wife : Great, you know what your doing... ill leave you to it :)

feels like im the only one this happens for...

I'm glad I'm not the only one Matt. Have a 24RU cabinet in the linen closet
in our new house too.. Suits the 100A 3 Phase nicely. :-)

My wife just walked in, looked at it, and turned around and walked out.

Kind Regards

Ha! I've copped grief today for having a 12RU cabinet installed in my new
house. My wife only saw it for the first time today...

Ha ha ha. That is so funny. I think that is always the reason we get rid of
networking gear. Wife had a go at me for have 2 routers & 3 switches.

The gear is pretty old, but have a look at the reason for
selling...classic...
