6900km".

We use OADM-BU's (Optical Add/Drop Multiplexing Branching Units) on
Fibre Pair #1 meaning that optical paths between Sydney and Guam are not
affected by the spurs. It's even more straight forward on Fibre Pair #2
as there are no OADM-BU's included on that pair and as such it is a
purely Sydney to Guam express fibre pair.

The shortest path from Guam is on AAG which goes Guam-Hawaii-US mainland
direct. Latency is considerably less than the Japan to US route and
quite comparable to SX (yes it's longer, but not that much, particularly
on the northern path of SX. It is a single path to Guam. It is a
(slightly) longer route to the US. It is however a much, much shorter
route to Asia than SX.

It depends on your needs and your views of where bandwidth supply and
apps will be driven over the next few years.

Cheers
