Change to minimum portable prefix size on APNIC IPv4 address blocks
________________________________________________________________________

Hi AUSNOG Community

As a follow up to an informational presentation by the APNIC Secretariat
at the APNIC 30 plenary, "IPv4 Tomorrow?", APNIC is making an
operational change to the minimum portable prefix size for all APNIC
IPv4 ranges.

As APNIC's IPv4 transfer policy permits transfers of /24 blocks and
larger, it is now possible that routable prefixes within a /8 are now
smaller than the minimum allocation size of a /22.

Therefore, the minimum portable prefix size for all APNIC IPv4 /8
address blocks has been changed to a /24. Please note, there has been no
change to the minimum IPv4 allocation size, which remains a /22.

Please update your network configurations, such as router filter sizes
based on the IPv4 address block minimum prefix size, where required.

For more information on the affected /8 blocks, see

Kind regards,
