[AusNOG] IPv4 Exhaustion date changed to December.

HEAR HEAR Mark.

People should stop screwing around about IPv6 and start doing it.

Find someone, ANYONE to help you if you don't have the skills in-house.

Unfortunately, while there is a lot of IPv6 skills in Australia, most of it is in-house with few independent organisations willing to put their hands in other peoples networks to help them. At the moment we are one of the few implementers (or the only one?), though I know IPv6Now are doing a lot of training and consulting.... if there are any others out there, I would love to know... as we have significant about of IPv6 stuff going on, not just in Australia, but the region.

The big issue about integration of IPv6 if you have the get involved deep in peoples networks, so you can't be competing with them... so you need to be independent. If there are any independents out there who "Really know" what they are doing, let me know and we may have some referral business.

That's a lot of brokers being commissioned (one by your very own firm) in the last 3 years - well and truly after 2003.

But that's not my point.

Consider this mailing list's audience. Should operational staff at Australia's
ISPs still be dicking around with tunnels?

I was playing with tunnel brokers in 2003. Pretty sure a lot of other people
around here were too. But that ship has sailed now, and we're supposed
to be getting on with native/dual-stack implementation.

Perhaps we'd be getting somewhere if people on this list worried less
about the IPv4 exhaustion date and more about their IPv6 implementation
dates...
